IZArc – One Stop Archive Utility with a Difference

IZArc is a state of the art archive utility with an assorted collection of other tools. It has a comprehensive set of tools that allow me to read CD image files or even split files of larger size to smaller parts for easier portability. It supports a variety of archive formats and thus gives me a single tool for all of my archiving needs. IZArc provides all the necessary archiving utilities like extracting files from archives and creating archives with more added functionality.

Simplicity of Managed User Interface
The overall structure of the user interface is very well balanced. It gave me all the necessary functionalities with many added features like the dragging and dropping files for archiving, converting one type of archive to another, testing the archive before extraction etc. There are also toolbar buttons to make the software quicker and easier to use.

An Easy Way to Convert Archive Formats
There is an option where I can convert my archive format and save it as any other archive format as per my choice. It will also automatically do an integrity check after conversion to verify if the conversion has been successfully completed. Now I don’t have to worry about compatibility issues when I archive my files because I can easily convert one format to another as per my need.

Now Handle CD image Files with IZArc
IZArc also provides me the ability to read CD image files like .NRG, .BIN, .MDF and .PDI. It also gives me option to convert these images from one type to another. So now I don’t even need to install other CD image reading software because IZArc provides me the capability to do so.

Encryption & Decryption – A Great Security feature
There is also a tool to encrypt and decrypt files. Thus it also gives me added security features with the help of one click password encryption and decryption tool. I can now protect my archives by encrypting them with a password and then only someone who knows the password can open them.

A Doctor of Corrupted Archives
IZArc also provides me a tool to repair my broken archives. So, if some of my archives are broken, then I can repair them using this feature. It creates a new repaired zip archive from the broken archive.

Multi-Volume File Splitter and Joiner – It’s Third Hand
This was the handiest utility for me because it allowed me to break down my files and archives of larger sizes into its smaller counterparts so as to enhance portability. I can now split files of larger sizes according to my volume specifications and then merge them at the destination using the merge multi-volume set feature provided.

Comprehensive Search inside Archives
There is a very useful search feature that enables me to search for specific files in my archives. I also have the option to search within the subfolders and in nested archives for the file. I can also specify the type of archive for search here. Now it has become very easy for me to search for some specific files that I need and I don’t have to go through all of my archive collection to search it.

Self Extracting Archives now Easier to Create
This was the feature I liked the most, as it allowed me to create a self extracting archive for my files. It creates an Exe file that can be run to extract the entire file set that I have added when I created it. Now I can just place all my files and make an Exe file which can then be extracted to the same folder as I click it.

Virus Check Facility to Safeguard our System
All my archives are checked by an antivirus for any virus infected files before they are extracted. So now when I download archives from the net, I can check to see if there are any viruses contained in them. IZArc gives me an option to install Kaspersky Antivirus when I am installing it, and I also have the option of using my existing antivirus software to check my archives for any virus.

Final Verdict
IZArc is a freeware and extremely useful software that incorporates a comprehensive set of tools and features. For me it is one stop destination for all my archiving, file splitting and CD image reading needs.
