When you install Windows XP on your computer, it may appear Windows genuine advantage notifications pop up on your computer if you haven’t passed the validation test. 1 Open System32 folder. Click on Start->Run, then type in “System32″. Click “OK.”
2 In “System32″, go to Tools->Folder Options, then click on the tab “View”, uncheck “Hide extensions for known file types”.
3 Find “WgaLogon.dll” and rename it with another extension(for example:WgaLogon.dll.bak). Click “Yes” if you get the warning: “If you change a file name extension, the file may become unusable. Are you sure you want to change it?”
4 Find “WgaTray.exe” in System32 and delete it.You will then have 5 seconds to find “WgaTray.exe” in the Task Manager (the next step).
5 Immediately open Task Manager. Go to the “Processes” tab, highlight the “WgaTray.exe” file and click on “End Process.”
6 Return to System32 and delete the Application Extension for “WgaLogon.dll.” Change the name of the file from whatever you renamed it back to the original name.
7 Restart your computer once you have finished.
