When some codecs are broken or not compatible, you should remove them from your computer. However, the uninstall program cannot be found.

1. Go to Start > Control Panel. Double click the System icon.

2. The System Properties window opens. Switch to the Hardware tab and then click the Device Manager button.

3. In the Device Manager window, under the “Sound, video and game controller” item click on the Audio Codecs or Video Codecs item. In this case, we are going to remove video codecs.

4. Switch to the Properties tab in the Video Codecs Properties window. The codecs on the computer will be listed. Click on Details tab, if you want to see more information about the video codec. Select the one you want to uninstall, and clik remove.

Or you want to remove the default codec on you codec.

1. Go to Start > Control Panel. double-click Add/Remove Programs

2. Switch to the Change or Remove Programs tab, find the XP codec pack and click on the Change/Remove button.
